The EinSTeiN's Top Secret
Science School Incursion, is an exciting science
enrichment
program,
consisting of over 300 spectacular yet simple activities, designed to
help both students and teachers learn and enjoy science.
We have especially
designed programs for Primary Schools that
specifically addresses learning
processes of the Science and
Technology K-6 Syllabus. The focus of our programs are to
develop Scientfic Literacy in children and stimulate their interest in
Science.
What makes us different is that our sessions are more than just demonstrations. Our classroom sessions are very hands on. Students will be given equipment and materials and will be guided through experiments.
Hall sessions are less hands on but still offer some student
interaction. Please note that students are not given equipment and
materials on an individual basis for hall sessions.
Our Programs
Early
S1 and Stage 1 -
Einstein's Amazing Science.
The
Amazing Science program covers multiple topics like chemistry, sound,
light and physics, through fun and simple activities. It will give
Students examples of the ways the different senses can be used in
observing. Students will recognise that discoveries can be made
through exploring ideas and experimenting. This program is suitable for
Early Stage 1 and Stage 1.
Stage
2 -
Einstein's
Workshop
Relevant
to content strands Physical Phenomena, Products and Services, Information and Communications - Board
of Studies Science & Technolgy Syllabus K-6.
Topics
covered :
Chemistry -
materials are joined, formed and finished. Students will that chemical
reactions can result in two materials forming something completely
different.
Magnets -
magnets attract some materials but not others. Students will learn
about magnectic fields through simple and easy to understand activities.
Sound -
sounds are produced by vibrating objects and can travel through
materials. Students will experience the unique ways in which our
Scientists are able to produce sound and how the pitch and travel of
the sound can be altered.
Stage 3 -
Earth, Light and Power.
Relevant
to content strands Physical Phenomena, Products and Services, Information and Communications, Earth and its Surroundings - Board
of Studies Science & Technolgy Syllabus K-6.
Topics
covered:
Air
Pressure - there are
various parts to the physical environment. For example stars, planets,
earth, air and water. Students will explore what air pressure is and
how we as humans, can manipulate it.
Electricity
- a complete circuit is needed for an electrical device to work.
Students will learn the basics of electrical circuitry and what an
important part electricity plays in today's world.
Water Pressure - Like air,
water is also part of our physical world. Students
will learn that water has density and that motion combined with gravity
can produce energy.
Light -
Light can pass through some materials and not others. When it
does not, shadows form. Students will learn about light diffraction and
the spectacular optical effects, disturbed light can produce.
Cost
is $240 for up to 30 students per classroom session.
Hall sessions are from $4.50 per child with a minimum of 80 students.
We follow State and
National standards with all our programs.
We ensure the students undertsand the following:
- What the
experiment is.
- What is used.
- Relevance to the
world they live in.
- How it works.
- Why it works
